GEOENERGY EXPO 2010 is the fair entirely dedicated to the plants, technologies, machinery, equipment and services for the industry of clean energy from subsoil and heating pumps.
Geothermal energy now makes up for 10% of Italian renewable energy sources, second only to hydro-electric energy, has considerable development potential and will enable to easily reach the goal of 25% of energy from renewable sources. At present, with geothermal energy, Italy produces 5 billion kilowatt hours per year, enough for the needs of electricity of more than one and a half families, equal to about 6 million people. To better promote geothermal energy in various regions of Italy, among which Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, Campania, Calabria, Sicily, the Italian government has recently given its definite approval for a legal decree that simplifies the rules to obtain authorizations in this sector, thus facilitating the start up of projects to promote the use of geothermal energy.
GEOENERGY EXPO 2010 will be a unique chance to show the most recent innovations in terms of technologies, plants and machinery. The fair will also include a rich conference programme aimed at identifying the state-of-the-art of the sector and of the market, with the participation of universities, research institutes, associations and industries.
GEOENERGY EXPO 2010 will be part of ZEROEMISSION ROME, the important event dedicated to renewable energies for the Mediterranean area, which, in 2009 closed its doors with record figures: 25,400 visitors (there were 18,000 in 2008), 400 exhibitors (300 in 2008), an exhibition area of 30,000 square metres, (+30% compared to the previous edition), 56 conference sessions, with 377 speakers.
From 8 to 10 September, therefore, GEOENERGY EXPO 2010 will take place alongside: PV ROME MEDITERRANEAN 2010 (photovoltaic technologies), CSP EXPO 2010 (concentrating solar power), CO2 EXPO 2010 (the carbon credit market), ECO HOUSE (energy saving).
